Seven-piece AI-generated rock collective from Bangalore, India
The Lesser Mortals are seven friends who spent twenty years arguing about music before they finally made some. The instruments are AI-generated. The songs, the taste, the decisions about what stays and what gets cut — those are human.
Built by Vivek Ded from the real personalities of people he's known since college, TLM sits in the lineage of Gorillaz and ABBA Voyage: fictional characters, real music, no apology. The name came from a Bangalore terrace where an acquaintance dismissed the room as "lesser mortals." Three of those people were sitting right there. They took the insult and made it a flag.
Four vocalists. Seven songwriters. Genre-defiant. The kind of band that argues about the Stones at 2 AM and records the argument by morning.
